Locations |
| Map locations can be defined using symbols with an attribute named
"Location". The value for this attribute will be the
location name. These names may then be used in Overseer.LoadMap()
calls that will load the new map and place the traveler at the specified
location. Orientation of the symbol will be used to determine traveler
facing at the location point. Any symbol may be used, so long as it has an attribute named "Location". See the documentation for Campaign Cartographer® for procedures on how to create symbols with attributes. Once the custom symbol is created, it can be used to mark entry locations on maps. Thought Guild has provided a special symbol, O3D.Location, in each of their catalogs that has this attribute. The location symbol will automatically be made invisible and non-solid when detected on a map, providing location-only markers. If the "Location" attribute value of a symbol is set to Startup, this will be the default starting point for the map in question. If the user loads a map containing a Startup location object (i.e. not using the Overseer.LoadMap() method), City Overseer® will automatically position the traveler at this point on the map. |
